J7Jeffers Seven Labs

About

A small lab building memory that belongs to people.

Jeffers Seven Labs is an independent studio founded by Nick Jeffers. We build Field, an app for one person's lifelong memory, and the open Field protocol through which owned memories can meet on their owners' terms.

What we're working on

One product, one standard.

  • 01Field, for iPhone and Mac. Private TestFlight beta. One memory for life that Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Siri, or your own agents join by consent.
  • 02The Field protocol, draft v0.1, design only. Moments, typed relationships, and consent rules, built on OAuth, W3C Verifiable Credentials, passkeys, and MCP. Draft protocol: available on request.
  • 03Interop. A proposed extension so agents speaking the Personal Agent Protocol (Poppy) can redeem scoped Field grants. We'd like to help shape the draft.

How we work

The librarian, not the town crier.

CONTINUITY

Never lose it

No resetting to a stranger when you switch minds or vendors.

CONSENT

Nothing shared by default

Scoped, expiring, audited grants. Abuse and estrangement cases are must-pass, not afterthoughts.

OPEN

Recognition from the standard

We want a second, independent host to exist. The app should win by being the best home, not the only one.

Contact

Say hello.

Protocol implementers, standards folks, and potential second hosts are especially welcome.
